Elevating Democracy in 2023

Over the past four months, we’ve worked together to ensure that democracy was a key focus in this year’s election.  Protecting Our Democracy ran a robust data-driven digital program that reached over 1 million voters in the state with over 31 million impressions focused on combatting book bans, advocating for common sense gun safety in the face of an increasingly extreme Supreme Court majority, and elevating conversations around protecting critical personal freedoms, including reproductive rights in our state.

And, the results speak for themselves.  Across the state, pro-democracy candidates won their races, from the New Jersey State Legislature to local races for county commissions and town councils.

But, what does electing pro-democracy leaders really mean?

It means combatting book bans, as censors and extreme groups try to silence diverse voices.

It means working to elevate important conversations around protecting reproductive rights in our state.

It means ensuring that New Jerseyans have the freedom to move around their communities without the threat of gun violence.

It means protecting our very ability to make sure all New Jerseyans have the opportunities they deserve to thrive.

And, so much more.

Of course, a big thank you goes out to you for engaging and helping spread the word, but our work is far from done.  Anti-democracy extremists aren’t going anywhere, which is why we need to continue to fight to make sure New Jersey continues to lead the way in protecting democracy.

Help us out by taking our post-election survey here.

Together, we’ll continue to protect our democracy.
